The azulgranas head into the game in second place with 3 points, following a 5-2 victory over París FC on the opening matchday. The Catalan side sit proudly alone at the summit of Liga F Moeve with a 100% win record. Pere Romeu will be without the services of Laia Aleixandri—who is recovering from an ACL injury—Kika Nazareth, and Vicky López. On the positive side, the Catalan coach welcomes back Cata Coll, Van Asten, and both Carla Julià and Aïcha Cámara, who arrive fresh from being crowned U20 World Cup champions with the Spanish national team. The holders, who are four-time champions of Europe's premier competition, lifted the trophy in 2020/2021, 2022/2023, 2023/2024, and 2025/2026.

Standing in their way is an Italian outfit that drew 0-0 with OH Leuven on matchday one of the league phase. Roma won Serie A last season, but finished 14th in Europe with just 4 points, missing out on the knockout rounds. This term, with Gianpiero Piovani now at the helm, the Roman side lost the Supercoppa final to Juventus on penalties, 2(4) - 2(2). The two sides have faced each other on three previous occasions, with FC Barcelona winning every encounter: 0-1 and 5-1 victories in the 2022/2023 season, and a 0-4 win on matchday two of last campaign. Furthermore, the Italian club have faced Spanish opposition in Europe four times, and all of those matches have ended in defeat.
