Barça festival at the Johan Cruyff
FC Barcelona claimed a 5-0 victory over Costa Adeje Tenerife in their league opener at the Johan Cruyff stadium. The blaugrana goals came courtesy of Graham Hansen, Claudia Pina—who was named MVP of the match—Ewa Pajor, Renee van Asten, and Irene Paredes, securing the win for the culer side on their opening day of the league campaign.

With the inclusion of academy player Lúa Arufe, FC Barcelona took to the Johan Cruyff pitch looking to secure all three points. The first chance of the match fell to Martina Fernández's head, but Noelia Ramos was imperious between the sticks, providentially clearing the dangerous effort. Ewa Pajor also came close to scoring from a set-piece, but the ball went wide. The clearest chance fell to Vicky López, but once again, a confident Noelia Ramos providentially saved the goal-bound effort from the Vallecas native. Graham also tried her luck with a powerful shot that went wide. At the other end, Marina Martí almost surprised with a shot that didn't find the opposition goal. From distance, Sydney Schertenleib looked for a goal, but the Canarian team's goalkeeper prevented the danger.
Again, Claudia Pina tried her luck with a shot straight into Noelia Ramos' hands. The pressure eventually paid off, and in the twenty-sixth minute, Claudia Pina conjured a pass for Graham Hansen to break the deadlock. The second chance fell to Sydney Schertenleib, but the midfielder's shot went over the bar. Just before half-time, Claudia Pina, who was the MVP of the match, unleashed a powerful strike from distance to double the lead on the scoreboard.
