This past summer, DUX Logroño returned to LigaF Moeve. A summer of changes is expected for the Riojan outfit. One of the first signings was the return of Annelie Leitner (Graz, June 15, 1996). Born in Austria, she grew up in Salzburg and started playing football at SC Tamsweg and 1. Salzburger Sportklub 1919. In 2009, she emigrated to Guatemala due to her father's work, but football continued to be a part of her life. After moving through three countries – the United States, South Korea, and Israel – she landed in Spain in 2020 to play for Zaragoza. Two years with the Aragonese side served her well, leading to international caps for her country and a move to DUX Logroño. Although she only stayed for one season, that year was enough for her to win over the fans and have a memorable campaign in the Primera RFEF, where she became a key player.

The full-back, who can play on both the right and left flanks, was one of the most decisive players in the division, featuring in 30 matches in the Second Division, accumulating 2,662 minutes with one goal and four assists. These numbers were not enough for promotion to the elite with the vinotinto squad, who finished in 8th position with 43 points, five points off the promotion playoff spots. However, her strong performances caught the attention of SD Eibar, and the Austrian made the leap to the top flight. In her debut in the top category, she amassed 1,730 minutes in 24 matches, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists. Last season, however, she had limited participation, totalling just 530 minutes in 13 games, although she was part of the Basque team's two successful campaigns to avoid relegation in both seasons. Her lack of game time and the promotion of DUX Logroño to the First Division prompted her return home.

“Hello vinotintos. I'm very happy to be back, and even more so with this challenge. I can't wait to get started, and I'll see you very soon at Las Gaunas,” stated the player in her first words as a Riojan player. The full-back has played on the right and left flanks, and as a wing-back, being an undisputed starter in her team's formations. She has truly shone in the last three matchdays, scoring three decisive goals to secure DUX Logroño's survival. The first of these goals came on Matchday 26. Annelie Leitner finished off a cross from Rebeca with a header from inside the box to secure a vital draw at the Di Stéfano against Real Madrid CF (1-1), where she was named MVP of the match. The Austrian repeated as MVP the following matchday, opening the scoring against Madrid CFF (3-0) with a left-footed strike.

A weekend later, Annelie Leitner was once again the protagonist, this time with a right-footed shot from inside the area to beat Laura Coronado and score the second goal in the victory against Levante UD (1-4), which mathematically secured the Riojan side's place in the elite. Three goals, one with her head, one with her left foot, and one with her right, to seal the Riojan outfit's survival. Furthermore, in those three matches, the Austrian started as a left-back. In total, this season, the full-back has played 2,209 minutes in 28 matches, making her the fourth most-used player in her team. She has also scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist. Her statistics are rounded off by an average of 4 balls recovered per game and winning 48% of her total duels, proving decisive in DUX Logroño maintaining their top-flight status.
