After announcing up to ten departures for the coming season, in addition to Iñaki Goikoetxea's continued presence on the bench, Eibar has already confirmed its first signing for the next campaign: Ángeles del Álamo (Bilbao, 25 February 1993), who arrives from RCD Espanyol. The forward began her footballing career at Adepo Palomera and Vallecas CF, before joining Rayo Vallecano, where she spent three years and debuted in Primera División. She then moved to Racing Féminas and Granada CF, with whom she was promoted to the top flight, but the Andalusian club did not want her for their elite project. She then signed with RCD Espanyol, with whom she was promoted back to Liga F Moeve, this time to stay, and re-debuted in the top tier seven years later.
Her 7 goals in 26 matches were crucial for the Catalan club to achieve promotion to the top flight through the promotion playoff. Furthermore, at the Perica outfit, the Vallecas-born player combined playing football with her practical training in her teaching degree. In her return to the elite, Ángeles del Álamo played 653 minutes across 23 matches, scoring 2 goals. Both came in the 6-2 victory against Real Betis Féminas. Last season, the forward accumulated 834 minutes in 21 matches and also scored 2 goals, in two key victories against direct rivals to secure survival, against Alhama CF ElPozo (3-0) and against Levante UD (0-1), as well as providing 1 assist. Thus, every time the striker has scored, her team has won.
Furthermore, the Vallecas-born player has averaged a goal every 371.75 minutes in her last two campaigns in the elite, making her a valuable reinforcement for the forward line of the Basque side. She is a player who will bring dribbling ability, speed, pressing work, and goal-scoring capacity to improve the scoring figures of an Eibar side that, along with Levante UD, scored the fewest goals this season with just 18 in favour. “Armeros, I am very happy to be at Ipurua. See you soon,” she stated in her first words as a new player for the Basque club. Eibar will be looking to remain in the top flight for another year and has now bolstered its forward line with a player eager to start scoring for the club.
