Esperanza Pizarro and Marisa boost Deportivo Abanca's survival hopes
The Galician side won 1-2 against Levante UD with goals from Esperanza Pizarro and Marisa García. The MVP of the match was Paula Gutiérrez, who provided one assist. Meanwhile, Raiderlin Carrasco scored the goal for the granota side, but it was not enough to prevent the Levante team from remaining in the relegation zone.

Before the match kicked off, both captains exchanged their personalised trading cards as part of the ‘Love For The Colours’ campaign. Three minutes into the game, Bascu threaded a ball in behind the defence for Raiderlin Carrasco, who beat Inês Pereira with a subtle touch to send the ball into the back of the net. The two players linked up again a few minutes later, with a powerful shot from the Venezuelan that the Portuguese goalkeeper saved with a formidable stop to avert the danger. Deportivo Abanca responded from a set piece. A corner kick delivery was headed by Olaya Rodríguez from the penalty spot. The attacking midfielder's header was caught by Andrea Tarazona without much trouble. Once again, the *granotas* tried their luck with an effort from Ana Franco that the visiting keeper held onto.

The goalkeeper again claimed a header following an action inside the box. Just before half-time, Paula Gutiérrez, who was the MVP of the match, delivered a cross into the area which Esperanza Pizarro controlled at the far post. The Uruguayan forward levelled the score at 1-1. In the second half, Andrés París’s side tried to regain the lead, but Inês Pereira remained solid between the sticks once more. At the hour mark, a free-kick delivery from Olaya Rodríguez got away from Andrea Tarazona, who failed to communicate with Teresa Mérida, and Marisa, who was in the right place at the right time, pounced on the loose ball to put the *deportivistas* ahead. The goal was a cold shower for the home side, who quickly made substitutions, bringing on Inés Rizo up front.
Levante UD pushed forward, and Dolores Silva and Carol Marín soon entered the pitch as well. Specifically, a direct free-kick struck the crossbar. The rebound fell to Teresa Mérida, who sent the ball back into the area for Carol Marín to head into the net from the far post. Joy erupted on the *granota* bench, but the excitement soon turned to disappointment following the review by the Football Video Support, which disallowed the goal. In the closing stages, the *granotas* could not change the scoreline. With the final whistle, the defeat of the *levantinista* squad was confirmed; they remain in 16th position in Liga F Moeve with 8 points, two shy of safety, while Deportivo Abanca, with these three points, moves up to 11th position and takes a giant step towards securing their place in the division.
